Automatic sliding door installation in clean room environment

Project overview

Elmwood Protection Services recently completed a significant project involving the installation of a new automatic sliding door in a clean room environment. This installation was crucial to ensure the structural integrity and functionality of the door while adhering to the client’s strict guidelines for working in a clean room.

The challenge

The client required the installation to be completed while the clean room was still in use, following strict guidelines for working in that environment. The walls of the clean room were made from lightweight insulated panels, which did not have enough structural integrity to support a door operator and its safety pocket doors.

Our solution

Upon receiving the client’s request, Elmwood Protection Services promptly provided a detailed quote, which was accepted, and the works were approved. Our team designed and fabricated an aluminum frame that was fixed to the concrete floor below the mesh sub-floor and extended up behind the operator, consisting of a transom section to carry the operator. The safety pocket doors were then hung from this frame.
