Project Overview
SureStart provides vital services to children from antenatal stages to three years old, focusing on health, education, play, physical development, and speech and language. To better serve families, SureStart identified the need for a quality improvement project—one that would create a more welcoming, functional, and enriching environment for children and parents alike.
Working in collaboration with Rosewood Bespoke Joinery, our Facilities Management (FM) team at H&J Martin completed the project within just six days, delivering transformative upgrades across three key areas.
Key Project Areas
Reception Area: A Home from Home
The first point of contact for families needed to be warm, welcoming, and practical. Rosewood Bespoke Joinery crafted a custom storage and seating solution, offering families a comfortable and inviting space. The improved layout ensures a clear sense of direction, helping visitors feel at ease as soon as they arrive.
Resource Room: A Versatile Space for Learning & Play
As a multi-functional room used for everything from messy play to adult education, flexibility was essential. Our team replaced outdated features with a fresh, modern design, removing heavy curtains and creating a bespoke storage solution to create a clean, adaptable environment that can quickly transition between different uses.
Observation Room: Little Land – Big Adventures for Little Hands This imaginative space was transformed into a dynamic learning area with custom built and painted storage houses helping to create themed stations that will rotate bi-monthly. From a farmer’s market to a vet’s clinic, children now have role-playing opportunities that enhance their social, cognitive, and communication skills, ensuring they receive a well-rounded developmental experience.
